Biography

Daphne Barak.

International interviewer, executive producer, author — and the keeper of the largest private archive of filmed interviews in the world.

For three decades, the world's most powerful people have sat down across from Daphne Barak — and talked. Her exclusive interviews, for leading print and broadcast outlets across Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and the United States, span heads of state, royals, Hollywood stars, musicians and athletes alike.

As an executive producer of more than twenty years, she has made documentaries and television specials — among them Our Son: Michael Jackson, A Tale of Two Sisters with Liza Minnelli and Lorna Luft, the Discovery documentary Jackie Chan Showing Hong Kong, and Coming Home With The Kennedys — several produced with Elisabeth Murdoch, airing prime time on 20/20, Dateline, 48 Hours, ITV, CNN International and networks across the globe. In 2016 she released the ICONS in their own words series.

"The sole owner of hundreds of exclusive sit-down interviews — so big and unique it can crash a network television in the U.S."

She is the author of seven books and counting, including the best-selling Saving Amy, My Benazir on Benazir Bhutto, Coming Home With The Kennedys, Mama Sarah Obama, To Plea or Not To Plea and Struggling for One America. In 2022 she conducted Ghislaine Maxwell's first interview from prison — heard first on CBS Mornings — an exclusive that returned her, once again, to the centre of the world's biggest story.
